Ezlo A Review of Their Smart Home Solutions

Ezlo, a prominent player in the smart home industry, offers a range of products and services aimed at making homes more connected and convenient. Their offerings include smart hubs, sensors, cameras, and a comprehensive platform called MiOS that ties everything together.

Pros:

  • Wide Range of Devices: Ezlo offers a comprehensive ecosystem of devices, from hubs to sensors to cameras, catering to various smart home needs.
  • MiOS Platform: Their MiOS platform is designed for flexibility and compatibility, allowing users to integrate a wide range of devices from different brands. This open approach is a significant advantage for users who want to avoid vendor lock-in.
  • Ease of Use: While smart home setup can be daunting, Ezlo’s interface and mobile app are generally user-friendly, making it easier for beginners to get started.
  • Community and Support: Ezlo boasts an active online community forum where users can share ideas, troubleshoot issues, and get support from other users and Ezlo staff.

Cons:

  • Learning Curve: Despite the user-friendly interface, some advanced features and integrations within MiOS might require a steeper learning curve for users who are not tech-savvy.
  • Limited Third-Party Integrations: While MiOS is designed for compatibility, some users have reported limitations in integrating certain third-party devices or services that are not officially supported by Ezlo.

Overall:

Ezlo is a solid choice for users who value flexibility, customization, and the ability to integrate a wide range of devices into their smart home setup. The MiOS platform offers extensive control and automation possibilities, albeit with a bit of a learning curve. While the price point might be a deterrent for some, the investment could be worthwhile for those who prioritize an open and customizable smart home ecosystem.

Recommendation:

If you’re a tech-savvy user who enjoys tinkering with smart home setups and wants a platform that offers a high degree of customization and control, Ezlo is worth considering. However, if you’re looking for a simpler, out-of-the-box solution with extensive third-party integrations, you might want to explore other options in the market.

About Ezlo

World’s Most Connected Platform

With MiOS, the first OS for property, Ezlo is delivering true interoperability to the smart home space. Integrate anything, automate anything, and visualize everything.

Ezlo was founded to disrupt the status quo. The smart home market has become stagnant, with siloed smart devices that don’t play nice together. Ezlo, instead, was built to deliver true interoperability.

We started by launching MiOS, the first OS for property, designed to let any property integrate anything, automate anything, and visualize everything.

Today, Ezlo is building faster and more powerful smart devices on top of MiOS, advancing solutions for consumers and businesses, and quickly becoming a global leader in smart home automation.

After deploying smart homes for over 10 years, Ezlo has built a proven platform for reliability, processing over 1.2 billion events a month. And to improve interoperability in the smart home industry, we recently launched MiOS, which now powers over 1 million connected smart devices.

For Ezlo, the world would be a better place if all property was empowered and predictive.

A History of Improvement

eZLO Smart Home

Working with national dealers, real estate companies, and utilities, Ezlo has refined and improved, now delivering the only smart home platform you’ll ever need, with best-in-class smart devices.

Three ways to prevent or stop home theft

1. Surveillance cameras

Modern cameras can record video 24/7 and save it onto a cloud storage for later access. Some have built in motion sensors to launch video recording and send you a notification if something suspicious happens in sight.

Such cameras cost $150-$200 and are a great start for most new homeowners. Besides, if you can install them outside your home, on your terrace or an entryway, its presence alone can deter burglars from spontaneous thefts.

2. Smart sensors and plugs

Even if burglars manage to sneak into your house and you don’t have cameras to spot and record them, your smart home devices can help you out. The sensors can notify you if an unusual motion is noticed, or if somebody opened the door or the windows, or switched on your smart lights. And if you have smart plugs, they can also notify you about unexpected power consumption.

With such information available immediately, you can either drive home to check what’s up or, more preferably, call the police.

3. Activity imitation

Many anti-theft guides also recommend doing everything to avoid the burglars figure out that you left your house or apartment for long. For instance, you can ask your close ones or neighbors to pick up the mail or trim a lawn for you.

Modern home automation systems allow for a mode that imitates your presence even if you’re out. One of the most widespread options is using smart lights for that. The simplest option is to switch them on and off every now and then remotely via your smartphone. Some advanced solutions can also learn your habits and follow them automatically for an even better result when you depart for a few days.

Of course, you can also turn on your stereo system or a TV to improve the effect of presence even more.
